Reggae star Stevie Face is deeply committed to doing everything he can to make a positive impact on the lives of the people in his home parish St Thomas.

The entertainer recently partnered with the Help Jamaica Medical Mission to put on a free health fair for residents of Yallahs and the surrounding areas. The event, which was held at the Yallahs Primary School on Saturday, September 6, was attended by numerous adults and children.

"When I was growing up, St Thomas was one of the most underdeveloped parishes in Jamaica. Many years ago, I made a vow to myself that one day I would help to change that. I'm happy that God has blessed me with a successful music career, which makes it possible for me to build multiple businesses in Yallahs, St Thomas, including my Advanced Service Station," he said.

"I'm very passionate about philanthropy; it speaks to the core of who I am both as an artiste and a human being," he added. Stevie Face called this year's staging of the health fair a tremendous success.

"Last year, several hundred people attended the event. Even more people turned up this year to receive free blood pressure checks, diabetes checks, eye checks, HIV screening, back-to-school medicals, eyeglasses and medications," he said.

"The people of St Thomas have benefited tremendously from the health fair, and I intend to continue this partnership with Dr [Robert] Clarke and the Help Jamaica Medical Mission to put on the health fair every year. I am thankful to him and his team, all the support staff who helped to make the health fair a success," he added.

Despite his philanthropic work and business ventures, Stevie Face still maintains a thriving music career. He is currently working on his fourth studio album.
