Can’t ‘get it up’ when using the condom

March 12, 2021

Dear Pastor,

I am 57 years old. I was married but my wife passed away. I have got remarried but my new wife is only 40. We have a little challenge when it comes to sex.

I am not interested in having anymore children. My wife told me that if I get her pregnant she will be happy. But I am trying my best not to get her pregnant. I am embarrassed to tell you that everything is well in the bedroom, but whenever I put on the condom to have sex, my penis goes limp. But whenever I take off the condom, I get a solid erection. But Pastor, I am scared. I do not want to have a child in my old age, so I am asking you for your advice.

O.S.

Dear O.S.,

I think that you and your wife should go and see a family counsellor. I suggest a family counsellor because your problem of not being able to wear a condom could be strictly psychological. It is a matter of the mind. I believe that you will overcome this problem with professional help.
