Deadbeat babyfather left me to struggle

March 08, 2021

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to you with tears in my eyes. I am a 31-year-old single mother of two children. I am so depressed and stressed out. It hurts so bad when I can't provide for my children these days. I can barely find food for us. My children's father went to the United States of America years ago saying he was going to make a better life for us, and since then I barely hear from him.

I used to work as a caregiver for an elderly man, but he has passed on. I am always trying to find another job but without success. I am trying to raise chickens, but things have been rough.

I just feel like giving up on life. I love my children dearly and I wish I could give them a better life. I am asking for some advice or help. I would appreciate it.

J.W.

Dear J.W.,

I regret hearing of your struggles and particularly your lack of money to support your children and yourself. Your children's father has caused you to be in distress. He has not been faithful in supporting you and that is a real disgrace on his part. I offer you my prayers, but you need money and not just prayers. So we publish this letter hoping that a family who needs a caregiver would respond and offer you a job. I am sure you would be willing to do anything that will cause you to earn an honest bread. So, if anyone is willing to offer you help I will contact you immediately.
