St Thomas men facing gun charges
Two St Thomas men are facing firearms charges after they were intercepted by police in Golden Grove on December 14.
Detectives have charged 34-year-old Marshalick Thomas, and 28-year-old Andre Campbell, both of Botany Bay, with possession of a prohibited weapon and ammunition, dealing in ammunition, possession of a prohibited weapon with the intent to traffic, trafficking a prohibited weapon, and removal/alteration of a mark. Reports from the Morant Bay police are that about midnight, police acting on information intercepted and stopped a motorcycle that both men were travelling on. They were then searched by the lawmen. The search yielded a .38 revolver handgun and a 45 mm assault rifle, along with 45 rounds of ammunition.
Thomas and Campbell were taken into custody and subsequently charged. Their court dates are being arranged.
