Devin Di Dakta song featured in Beats By Dre ad
Dancehall artiste Devin Di Dakta is celebrating a major international breakthrough after his single, ' Bubble', which is produced by Equiknoxx's Gavsborg, was featured in a Beats by Dre advertisement starring FC Barcelona's 17-year-old wonderkid, Lamine Yamal.
"As it regards to me getting this opportunity, I'll say it's a result of properly releasing music, it hitting the right ears, they loved it and reached out to me," Devin shared.
"Issa great look. Getting my name in new territories is always great for not just myself, but the culture in general."
The sync deal marks another milestone in the evolving global reach of Jamaican music and solidifies Devin's place among artistes who are leveraging creative independence into big brand moments.
"Being part of the Beats by Dre legacy means aligning with a brand that celebrates bold creativity, culture, and sound," he reasoned.
"It's an honour to contribute to something that has shaped how the world experiences music," he added.
It's the latest achievement in a growing list of accolades for the St Mary native, who has previously graced the Grammy stage, made Billboard appearances, and been featured in prestigious publications. Still, Devin said the thrill never fades.
"It's always an amazing feeling to have my name placed among greatness, whether it's the Grammys, Billboard, prestigious magazines, or global brands, all of which I've accomplished. And I can tell you, the feeling never gets old -- it's always exciting." He shared.
For rising musicians hoping to follow in his footsteps, Devin had a clear message: "The only advice to my fellow musicians is, 'release your music. you only miss the shots you don't take.'"
