In a career already filled with Grammy wins and chart-topping success, reggae artiste Gramps Morgan has added another historic accolade to his family's legacy with a platinum plaque.

The honour celebrates more than one million units sold of the reggae love song Let's Do It Again, recorded by Hawaiian artiste J Boog. Gramps, a member of the renowned Morgan Heritage band, acknowledged the significance of the moment, not just for him, but for everyone who was involved in the project.

"I want to tell you this feeling is incredible, it is humbling at the same time," he said, noting that he brought J Boog to popular local producer Don Corleon, after colleagues suggested the Hawaiian shadow Gramps while he was on tour.

"We eventually went to Jamaica after the tour and just finished the entire album and it was just an incredible experience," Gramps shared. He noted that they recorded at Bobby Digital's studio, and acknowledged that many chances were taken by bringing an Hawaiian artiste to Jamaica and having him record. Gramps also highlighted Don Corleon for recording an artiste he hadn't heard before.

"I also want to dedicate the plaque to Morgan Heritage and my fallen brother Peetah, my label Dada Son entertainment and my publicist Sean 'Contractor' Edwards," he added.
