St Catherine High will try to secure the final automatic second-round spot in the ISSA Manning Cup football competition this afternoon when they face Group C leaders and qualifiers Kingston College at the Spanish Town Prison Oval. Kick-off time is 3 p.m.

St Catherine are looking to join Jamaica College and Kingston Technical from Group A, Camperdown High and Tivoli High from Group B, along with Kingston College as automatic qualifiers.

However, they are currently tied on 10 points with Mona High, who have completed their fixtures. St Catherine coach, Anthony Patrick, says there is only one option for his team, 'do not lose', and he believes they are prepared to get the result they want from the match.

"We have to get something from the game and we are going in with the frame of mind to have a good game and get a good result from it.

"Both teams are unbeaten. So it is going to be a tough one tactically and technically but we are prepared and the players are ready for the challenge," he said.

He added that although KC have already qualified, they will want to win the group and will play their best football this afternoon. "KC want to win the zone so they will come to play hard. We just want a point from it and we are prepared," he stated.

The St John's Road-based school will have their work cut out against a Kingston College side whose defence has not been breached in four matches and who have netted 17 goals in the process.

St Catherine's defence is equally impressive with just one goal conceded in their four matches.

However, their attack is comparatively weak with only six goals registered in the competition thus far.

Meanwhile, Papine and Jose Marti will try to end the season on a high, with at least a point or a goal, when they play their final games of the season.

Jose Marti sit at the bottom of Group B without a point or a goal after six matches. While, Papine are in a similar position in Group C after four games.
