Reid looking forward to Central clash

Arnett Gardens striker Fabian Reid is oozing with confidence ahead of the club's Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship semi-final against Trinidad's Central FC at the Anthony Spalding Sport Complex on Friday, after scoring a goal in each of Jamaica's two international games against regional opponents St Kitts and Nevis, and Antigua and Barbuda, respectively.

However, the striker who played two seasons in Trinidad for San Juan Jabloteh, and has the experience of scoring against Friday's opponent in Trinidad's Pro League, has warned his team mates not to take the 2015, 2016 CFU club champions, and 2017 semi-finalist lightly.

STYLE OF PLAY

"I know the Central team," he said, "I played against them two years when I was in Trinidad. I know their style of play and what they are capable of. Central likes to keep the ball, so when we have the ball we have to keep it, because when we lose, they are a team that keeps the ball, so we have to do our best and if we do our best it will pay off. But I have scored against the Central team already, so it's nothing new," he contends.

"I am well prepared because I am just coming off national duties. I played two games, scored two goals. So I am just telling the players to be motivated because it's just two games, so we have to take it one game at a time. But we have to take it seriously, because this is an important competition and it would be a good achievement to win this competition," he commented.

SKILLS AND ABILITY

The 26 year old who has big aspirations of playing overseas and earning a living for the sports he loves, see this as a great opportunity for him and other Arnett players to showcase their skills and abilities.

"Playing in this competition other teams can see you and you can get a contract. You have to play your best because you don't know who is out there watching, so it's a nice experience playing the CFU Club Championship. I am always on top of my game, because I work hard because I want to achieve something out of football," he stated.

Reid was the Red Stripe Premier League's second top scorer with 16 goals, one behind top marksman, Craig Foster.
