Brown, Lewis end 2015 in running style
Kirk Brown's excellent road form continued last Sunday as he ended the year in fine style by capturing the Evergrow Garden Centre Old Harbour Bay 5K Road Race.
Brown stopped the clock at 15 minutes 02.59 seconds. He was the first male to finish the course, crowning himself overall winner.
St Jago High School's Chris Ann Lewis, who has also been in good form all year, was the top female to finish the course in a time of 19:55.40.
The race, which started at the Old Harbour Police Station, saw Brown dominating from the early stage for a convincing win. Hugo Chambers 5K male champion, Lenford Salmon, had to settle for second overall in 15:12.01. St Jago High schoolboy Thaleito Green was third in 15:33.25.
Veteran runner Karlene Blagrove denied St Jago a clean sweep of the top three spots among the females. She finished second in 20 minutes 48.19 seconds with Rihanna Christie finishing third in 20:54.10.
St Jago High males and females topped the team categories.
