44 new cases, two more COVID deaths

Jamaica on Saturday recorded two more COVID-19 deaths, increasing the death tally to 188.

The deceased are:  a 72-year-old male of a St. Catherine address; and a 70-year-old male of a St. Elizabeth address.

Meanwhile, there were 44 new cases with ages ranging from nine months to 96 years, increasing the total to 8,714 with 4,129 being active.

Of the new cases, 24 are males and 20 are females.

In the meantime, there were 73 more recoveries, increasing the total to 4,282.

Some 134 persons are in hospital with 21 being moderately ill and four critically ill.

No one is in government quarantine, however, 19,688 are at home.
