Jamaica records ten more COVID-19 recoveries

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has reported that, ten more Jamaicans have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 181. 

This has pushed the island's recovery rate to 34 per cent. 

In the meantime, five additional persons have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 534. 

The five new cases are comprised of three males, and two females. 

Two of the newly confirmed cases are from the group of repatriated Jamaica citizens, who arrived on the island from the United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 7. 

Of the five cases, two are from Kingston and St.Andrew, one is from Portland, one is from St. Mary, and another whose address is being ascertained. 

To date, Jamaica has tested 9,178 samples, 8,572 have been negative, 534 have been positive, and 72 samples are pending.
