Reggae singer Amsu Govament has been causing a buzz in entertainment circles with a saucy single titled ' Dancehall Cabinet' that appears to assign key ministerial roles to leading figures of the dancehall fraternity.

Amsu Govament said he came up with the idea to use artistes in these roles because of the havoc that the Night Noise Abatement Act created on night-time entertainment activities.

"So me say 'Yu know, the artistes dem woulda run the country better'. So with Bounty Killer say him ah the Poor People Governor, so me give him prime minister. Shabba pave the way so we give him governor general. Mi give Shaggy the finance minister, Elephant Man get energy and water portfolio," said the artiste, whose given name is Keith Desgouttes.

The song was released on the Bluming Roof Records earlier this year. He has been making the rounds promoting the song.

"People love the humour in it. I performed the song on TVJ the other day, and Neville Bell cracked up when mi ah explain the concept to him. Mi know that Boom Boom love football, is a Liverpool man, and Harry Hype play music from eye de ah him knee. Mi give dem the dual roles of minister of sports and entertainment," he added.

Given the buzz around the single, he has fast-tracked plans to do a video.

Amsu Govament grew up in Portland, and started his music career in 1992 when he recorded his first single Man Nuh Fi Butterfly for legendary music producer Philip 'Fattis' Burrell.
