This week, our camera zooms in on Shamara 'Inspire' Spencer.
What role does fashion and style play when putting together choreography?
I feel the most powerful in baggy clothing, because I love how my movement speaks to the fabric and allows it to create its own reactive shapes and movement. Hats make me feel mysterious. Sometimes if I'm finding it hard to connect to a song, I dress up in whatever outfit I think embodies the song, and it usually allows me to speed through the choreo process.
What's the craziest piece of clothing you have bought?
I have way too many items like that to just pick one. Still haven't worn some of them. Gowns, I would just purchase random gowns.
What's one place you'd like to travel for shopping?
Japan! I've never seen an unfashionable Japanese person. In college I was so intrigued by the way they put themselves together. It's one of the fashion capitals of the world.
What's your favourite game to play and why? French dominoes! I love anything that has a lot of rules and there's counting involved.
