A decade-long feud between dancehall artistes Pamputtae and Lisa Hyper seems to have been quelled.

The pair, who have been at loggerheads since 2009, recently appeared on Spice's talk show, Spice It Up, where they talked through their problems in an episode dubbed 'Mending Fences'. In an interview with THE STAR following that appearance, the two shared that although they are not each best friends, it felt good being able to repair their relationship.

"When I had the problem with Spice, I had issues wid Pamputtae also, and mi do a song and disrespect a whole heap a females and just never chat to a soul much after that. But when I buried the hatchet with Spice, I knew it was time to do the same for others," said Lisa Hyper. "So when Spice call we fi di show and say the topic is Mending Fences, Tifa was on the show as well, it was just time. If we can find the time fi argue wid each other, why we can't find the time as grown people to sit down and work out whatever it was? I didn't have any problem doing it at all, and I'm glad I was able to."

Pamputtae said there's a need for female artistes in dancehall to unite. "We good, innu. Spice call we and say we affi mend the fences and mi never have no problem wid dat, and so we fix things. Mi and her take picha and hug up and laugh, no sadness nuh deh deh so. The picture tells yuh 1,000 words, innu. People affi understand say inna dancehall a just so it go sometime, likkle controversy affi in deh. Mi nuh hate, her cuz if somebody call and say dem want a show wid me and her mi a go say, 'Of course,' and why not?" she said. "This whole unity thing right now means a lot, because what yuh put out is what yuh get. If we constantly put out bad vibes right chu, a dat we a go get back ,and we can't bother wid dat. Unity is always strength because at the end of the day, it all boiled down to one picture of us smiling."

"We inna di same business, di same profession, we supposed to can get along," Lisa Hyper added. "There's always a complaint about us as females not getting along ,and das why things don't go the way how we want it. Unity is always good, we can't go around that. We really need to look out for each other, build each other."
